Mother’s Day Tandem Throwing
May 12 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Join us on Mother’s Day for a one-of-a-kind experience! Enjoy an afternoon with the woman who taught you everything while you learn throwing techniques both individually and in tandem. During this workshop you’ll share a wheel while you first learn to work by yourself, then put your trust in mom to make something together.
You and your mom will create 2-4 pieces of unique pottery that your instructor will glaze and fire for you approximately 3-4 weeks after the workshop. Choose your glaze and celebrate your mom with a permanent piece of artwork that you made together.
Mother’s Day Tandem Throwing

Interested in planning your own private workshop? Email email@example.com.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Attendees must be at least 18 years of age or older to attend, and attendees under 21 are not permitted to bring/consume alcohol.
What’s the refund policy?
Refunds can be issued up until one week prior to the event.
What should I bring?
You should come with any food or beverages you’d like to enjoy during your workshop, as well as any utensils, glasses, plates, etc. that your treats require. ClaySpace does not provide any of these items and is not responsible for clean up.
What should I wear?
Don’t wear any loose clothing, scarves, or long jewelry. Long hair should be tied back and no rings or bracelets should be worn, as they can fall off or get ruined. All clay washes out of clothing, but wear clothing you care about at your own risk. Nails should be trimmed short to avoid accidentally ruining freshly made work.
When will I get my creations?
During your workshop, you will choose the glaze color for each of your pieces, and the instructor will trim, fire, and glaze each piece for you after the workshop. The finishing process takes several days to complete, and students can pick up their work about 3-4 weeks after the workshop at a time agreed upon by the group and instructor.
What kinds of other workshops do you have?
Erie ClaySpace offers many different types of classes throughout the year. We have previously run 4, 6, and 8 week wheel and hand building classes, one day workshops, children’s classes, girl scout workshops, Cocktails and Clay evening workshops, private wheel and hand building workshops, birthday parties, fundraisers, and beginner and intermediate level classes. We love new ideas! If you have an idea for a class you’d like to see happen, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This sounds fun! How can I arrange a private workshop?
Email email@example.com. Workshops should be planned several weeks in advance in order to ensure your date is available. Private wheel workshops run at a 7-person minimum, at $45 per person. Larger groups will receive a per-person discount (email for an exact quote). Workshops last 2-3 hours, depending on the size of your group. Additional time can be arranged for an additional fee. We are flexible! If you have an idea for a private workshop, please email us and we will do our best to accommodate your group.
