Erie ClaySpace provides experienced ceramics artists with 24/7 studio access, ample studio work space and personal storage space. You'll also have access to glazing materials, several kilns and all our equipment. Open Studio

Erie ClaySpace offers free open studio sessions for its students included in the cost of the class. Every student enrolled in a multi-week ceramics class can come to the studio for two hours on Saturday to hone their craft and practice techniques learned in class. Open Studio is self-study time; while there is no instruction during this time, ECSAA members are available to provide guidance and assistance as needed. Learn more about Erie ClaySpace Classes!

Please Note: Erie ClaySpace facilities and equipment are for the exclusive use of ECSAA members and students. We do not allow outside groups or individuals to use our kilns or other equipment. There are no exceptions.

Cocktails and Clay

This class is the perfect way to introduce yourself to throwing on the wheel without having to commit to a multi-week class. You will spend the evening learning proper throwing techniques from a local ceramic artist and will create 2-3 pieces all your own. Bring your own snacks and drinks, get a little muddy, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with a friend, significant other, or just treat yourself!

Private Parties

Clayspace is available for private parties. Whether you are looking for a location for an off-site company connection for your employees, or a fun activity for a birthday party, Erie ClaySpace can tailor an event to your needs. Participants will receive expert instruction in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. All clay, glazing, and firings are included and you can pick up your pieces 2 weeks after the workshop.

One-Day Workshops

Erie ClaySpace offers occasional one-day workshops with a focus on a particular form or technique. Watch our calendar of events for upcoming sessions. Some examples of upcoming workshops: Make-a-Mug; 3-D Tiles; Sushi Set; Bowl, Plate and Tumbler. Each workshop is led by an experienced instructor and all clay, glazing, and firings are included. Space is limited, so sign up early!
