About Membership

Membership at ECS allows self-directed ceramic artists and hobbyists to create independently in a fully equipped co-working studio. We offer different tiers based on your predicted studio usage and the amount of work you plan to generate. Find the membership application below.


Benefits of Studio Membership @ Erie ClaySpace

  • 24/7 access to ClaySpace’s community studio, tools, and equipment

Types of membership

Half Shelf Membership

$65/month with a 3-month commitment

  • Best for ceramicists who generate a small to medium amount of work each month.

  • Includes 2 personal storage shelves, plus shared overflow storage.

  • All clay utilized by Half Shelf Members must be purchased through ECS @ $1/per lb.

  • Member access to the studio glazes and regular group firings.

Whole Shelf Membership

$100/month with a 3-month commitment OR $960 annual rate (20% discount)

  • Best for serious ceramicists who generate a medium to large amount of work each month, and need extra storage for work in progress, glazes, buckets, and clay.

  • Includes a 5-tier storage shelf unit for personal items, clay, tools, etc.

  • Full studio members have the option of bringing in their preferred clay and have the option to rent out a kiln for a solo firing.

  • Member access to studio glazes and regular group firings


Guest Pass: Members can bring in a friend or family member (must sign waiver) with a $25 guest day-pass. Member is responsible for providing the guest with clay and ensuring appropriate equipment use. 

Please Note: Erie ClaySpace facilities and equipment are for the exclusive use of ClaySpace members and students. We do not allow outside groups or individuals to use our kilns or other equipment without proper instruction. Click here to book a private workshop with us.

 

HOW APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP WORKS:

  • After application materials are received, your materials will be reviewed typically within 1-2 weeks. If there is a waitlist in place, your application will be reviewed when space becomes available.

  • Upon application approval, you must attend a 1 hour safety orientation prior to moving in possessions and getting keys / keypad code to the studio. New members must read the membership handbook and sign off on the terms contained therein.

  • A security deposit of $100 is required upon sign up. This is refundable at the end of the membership term if shelves are left empty and clean, studio key is returned and all kiln invoices are paid.

  • 30 days notice is required to end membership or change level of membership.
